I'm worried about the effect my pregnancy will have on my relationship

Relationship issues sometimes start in pregnancy or soon after the baby arrives, when most women need support. Throughout pregnancy and early parenting your hormones will surge which can make you feel very emotional and at times you may experience sudden outbursts of emotion that are not "normal" for you. Talk about this with your partner so he can be aware and better able to deal with this.

Some women experience violence. Violence is NOT normal (e.g. being hit, kicked, punched, sex against your will, threats or verbal abuse). Assaults and severe stress in your pregnancy are dangerous to both you and your baby.

Please talk about any issues that come up in your pregnancy with your midwife or GP. Any conversations you have are in confidence. Sharing problems can be helpful.
