Is it normal for me to feel low while I am pregnant?

Sometimes during pregnancy women can feel anxious or ambivalent about becoming a mother. They can feel isolated and unsupported with on one to talk to about these feelings. When there are complications with the pregnancy, women can feel even more vulnerable and anxious. This can be difficult for some women to admit to as pregnancy is meant to be a positive experience for everyone. It is important to recognise these feelings and be allowed to talk about them without feeling judged. It is normal to have doubts about how you will cope or what kind of parent you will be. It is also normal to have doubts about wanting your baby. However these feelings should not continue for prolonged periods of time and it may be beneficial to you to have further supports put in place for you. Please talk to your midwife, GP or someone you trust about these feelings should they occur.
